in each of these great struggles to ensure peace in our lands and
times, the United Kingdom and the United States have stood together
and have supported each other. For the definition of true Allies,
one need look no farther than this remarkable pair of countries.
Everyday, Americans of every class and age, remember the British
bravery during the Blitz ... during the evacuation of Dunkirk...
during the North Africa Campaign... during D-Day... during Invasion
of Europe... during Desert Storm, etc. And everyday, in the UK,
the Army Benevolent Fund has remembered the service of those soldiers.
For the residents of the The Royal Hospital, Chelsea to the young
subaltern far away from home, the ABF has stood by. For the injured
soldiers of those conflicts as well as for their grieving families,
